KAMPALA— Uganda stated that Judge Julia Sebutinde, who opposed all provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for Israel in a case brought by South Africa regarding the Gaza war, does not represent Uganda’s position, Quds News reported.اضافة اعلان
Sebutinde voted against all six measures issued by the ICJ following its ruling on Friday, which found South Africa’s claim of Israeli genocide plausible. The court then issued an interim order urging Israel to cease obstructing aid deliveries into Gaza and improve the humanitarian situation.

Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Adonia Ayebare wrote on X, formally known as Twitter, “Uganda’s support for the plight of the Palestinian people is evident in our voting record at the United Nations.”
Sebutinde was the sole judge who voted against emergency orders targeting Israel. Despite her vote, the ICJ directed Israel to take all measures within its power to prevent acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip.
