Burnt out, heartbroken — then I found my purpose in Uganda

It is 5.30am and I wake to the piercing sound of the Muslim call to morning prayer. I open my eyes slowly. For a few brief seconds, I forget where I am. And then I remember: I am in Uganda, of all places; in Kampala, staying down the road from a mosque. This is day two of my sixth trip to the east African country in seven years.
