Russ Cook, the Briton who has run the length of Africa, has finally completed his year-long challenge.
The Worthing, West Sussex star began his challenge back on April 22 last year, and has ran more than 16,000km (9,941 miles) between South Africa and Tunisia.
The 27-year-old has previously said he would be the first person to run the full length of the continent.
During his journey, he ran through 16 countries and completed the equivalent of 376 miles.
Before he completed his challenge, the runner posted on X, formerly Twitter: “Can’t believe it’s nearly over. See you at the shell garage soon boys & girls.”
His exploits have seen him raise more than £600,000 for two charities.
And it’s not just the long days running that Russ has had to endure. During his challenge, he has also battled intense heat and physical exhaustion.
In one incredible moment, Russ was also robbed at gunpoint in Angola, with his and his team’s cameras, phones and passports stolen.
August saw the runner also go missing and lose his supporters as he travelled through the Democratic Republic of Congo’s thick jungle.
