Southern Africa: SADC to Receive Normal Rainfall

Much of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region is likely to receive normal to above-normal rainfall for the 2016/2017 agricultural year, latest weather forecasts have indicated.

After a devastating El Nino-induced drought that affected food security in the whole of the SADC region, the extreme south-western Zambia, Caprivi area, south-eastern Angola, south-western half of Zimbabwe, eastern half of Botswana, most of northern South Africa, Swaziland and southern Mozambique are expected to receive normal to above normal rains from October to December 2016.
