The Black Stars of Ghana will learn their opponents for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on July 4, 2024, when the draw is held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The draw will feature 48 nations, including the four winners from the preliminary round: Chad, Eswatini, Liberia, and South Sudan. These teams will be drawn into 12 groups of four, with each group vying for a spot in the prestigious tournament.
Among the nations confirmed for the draw are reigning African champions Cote d’Ivoire, alongside Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, DR Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, and Ethiopia.

Other participating nations include Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The draw will take place at SuperSport Studios in South Africa at 12:30 GMT and will determine the groups for the qualifiers scheduled to begin in September 2024. This phase will decide the 24 nations that will compete in the AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
The event will be attended by selected CAF legends, representatives of the participating teams, and members of the Local Organising Committee for Morocco 2025, among others.
