Constance Ephélia Hotel Review, Seychelles

The Constance Kids’ Club, open every day from 9am-8pm, is for children aged between four and 11, and is equipped with indoor and outdoor play spaces, arts and crafts and a somewhat pretentiously named “imagination space”, with playhouses, kitchenettes and tool workshops. Staff seemed to be engaged with children and are English speaking. There is programme of daily activities, including visiting the nearby mangroves, pool games and pedalo riding, as well as planting trees and feeding giant tortoises.

There is a charge for some activities. Parents must pay for a babysitter for children under four at an hourly rate. Evening babysitter services cost SCR 250 (£14) per hour, 8pm-8am; SCR 350 (£19) per hour, 8pm-8am. Packages for four and eight-hour services are available. At meal times, there is a variety of Creole and spicy dishes available for parents wishing to challenge their offsprings’ tastebuds, and the presence of fruits such as papaya, dragon fruit and lychees, that they may not be used to seeing at home, offers the chance to show them diverse plants from around the world. Pizza, pasta and chicken breasts were generally available at every meal as an (unimaginative) fall back.
