GainJet accountable manager, Simon Roussos said: “GainJet has been a strong advocate of the African aviation market, having been present in Africa for over 15 years. During these years, we’ve taken initiatives to strengthen our position in Africa, including setting up several VIP aircraft bases throughout the continent. However, establishing an EASA approved line maintenance station in the region is the most symbolic step that we’ve taken yet, as we further grow our presence in Africa. Keep watching, there is more to come.”
The Kigali line station received its official certification from the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) as an EASA-approved maintenance facility, following a rigorous approval process in coordination with the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA). Roussos explains: “Receiving this approval at Kigali from the HCAA in coordination with the RCAA, confirms that our operations at Kigali meet the highest EASA safety and quality standards – demonstrating our unwavering commitment to excellence in aviation maintenance and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our clients.”
The Kigali Line Station will operate in direct cooperation with GainJet’s line maintenance HQ in Athens, and it will be staffed around the clock, 24/7, by highly trained and experienced aviation engineers, technicians and support staff.
Roussos continues: “This commitment to top quality, round-the-clock service ensures we can provide swift, efficient, and reliable maintenance services to our clients throughout Eastern and Central Africa with minimal disruption to their operations.”
The Kigali Line Station currently has approvals for the following types of aircraft:
Gulfstream GV-SP (G550)
Gulfstream GVI (G650)
Bombardier Global 7500 (BD-700-2A12)
Bombardier CL604/605
Boeing 737NG (-600, -700, – 800, -900)
Boeing 737CL (-300, -400, -500)
Roussos said: “This is just the beginning. We intend to expand our aircraft type maintenance capabilities in our Kigali Station – and beyond.” By the end of 2024, the station will also have approvals for line maintenance of the Gulfstream G700.
