Nigeria’s export value decreased in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the quarter before. When compared to the same quarter last year, the nation did, however, see an uptick. This was partly thanks to the products the country exported to other African countries, including its ECOWAS neighbors.
During the second quarter of 2024, ₦2,356.01 billion was exported to African nations, while ₦555.48 billion was imported.
According to a commodities analysis by the Nigerian National Bureau of Statistics, petroleum oils and oils were the primary goods shipped to African nations during the quarter under consideration.
Additionally, Nigerian exports to its fellow ECOWAS member nations totaled ₦1,667.33 billion, while imports were ₦166.37 billion.
In the quarter under review, Nigeria exported ₦1,350.59 billion to Ivory Coast, followed by Togo (₦204.12 billion), Ghana (₦40.83 billion), Benin (₦31.02 billion), and Niger Rep (₦20.46 billion), accounting for 98.78% of total ECOWAS exports.
With that said, here are the 5 African countries that brought in the highest export value for Nigeria.
