Madagascar to host 2025 CAA African Athletics U18/U20 Championships – AthleticsAfrica

The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) have confirmed that Madagascar will host the CAA African Athletics U18/U20 Championships in 2025.

Major decisions were taken during the CAA Council Meeting held at the Krystal Palace hotel in Douala, Cameroon on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

The Council members unanimously decided to award the organisation of the next youth competition to the island country, who were the sole bidders for the event.

There were also bids presented for the organisation of the 2026 African Athletics Senior Championships by Botswana and Ghana, who were the two candidate countries for the competition.

CAA President Hamad Kalkaba Malboum stated that the two countries will have to submit their bid so that the files are carefully studied before voting. The results are expected by Saturday.

The 23rd African Athletics Senior Championships will run from this Friday, 21-26 June, 2024 at the Japoma Stadium in Douala.
