In a significant milestone for West Africa, Ghana is set to host the 2024 Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Tournament on November 9-10, 2024, in Accra.
This prestigious event will be the first time the tournament is held in the region, serving as a qualifier for the 2025 Challenger Series.
Twelve national teams, including reigning champions South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana, will compete in this fast-paced, seven-player format.
The top three teams will qualify for the 2025 Challenger Series.
The matches will take place at the University of Ghana’s newly-built Rugby Stadium, showcasing the country’s growing commitment to women’s sports and international events.
With free admission, the tournament is expected to attract a significant audience, both locally and internationally, furthering the visibility of women’s rugby across the continent.
