Pan-Africanist PLO Lumumba to grace book launch in Gambia

In a correspondence (seen by The Point) to the author, Modou Age-Almusaf Sowe, top Gambian author and education activist who has authored a number of highly-acclaimed books, Lumumba affirmed his readiness to be part of the occasion.

His presence is anticipated to add substance to the programme, considering his vast experience in pan-African advocacy and other areas of immense importance.

Meanwhile, the book ‘AfriKa, Not AfriCa’ by award-winning Gambian writer, scholar and sustainable development prodigy is a poetry collection that challenges the traditional spelling of Africa.

Advocating for a harmonious continent, the award-winning book published by Ukiyoto Publishing in Canada, 2020, defies some of the key unsavoury socio-economic and political status quo that has been hindering pan-African consciousness and development at large.

The event is also projected to be graced by, Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, the nation’s first lady; Mr. Anthony ‘Penboss’ Onugba, Founder of Writers Space Africa (WSA); business and industry leaders; and top civil servants.

As a day celebrating African languages, development and governance, as well as echo the continent’s rich cultural heritage, poets and musicians such as Omar Champion Cham and Barhama Cham shall once more manifest their prowess.
