Ethiopia’s UN Ambassador has strongly defended his country’s agreement with Somaliland (the unrecognized republic north of Somalia) which allows Ethiopian soldiers to access Somaliland’s coastline, saying it is “not a violation of international law.” This follows a complaint filed by Somalia to the UN security council alleging Ethiopia is violating its sovereignty.
