Africa Energy Forum in Sharm El Sheikh-SIS

Within the framework of the city of Sharm El-Sheikh’s preparations to host the High-Level Forum for Energy Sector Interconnection in Africa, Egypt participated in the activities of the meeting of the fourteenth session of the General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), held in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Within the framework of the interest given by the political leadership and the Egyptian government to enhance cooperation with African countries, the activities of the High-Level Forum for Energy Sector Interconnection in Africa begin today in Sharm El-Sheikh, which is organized by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy under the auspices of the Council of Ministers in cooperation with the African Energy Utilities Association (APUA), the African Development Bank, and South Sinai Governorate.

Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Energy, is scheduled to participate in the activities of the fourth day of the forum, which will witness extensive discussions on the future of energy in Africa, while the activities of the first day will be opened by Dr. Ahmed Mahina, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity for Strategic Planning.
