Burkina Faso will square off with Sierra Leone in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Monday, 10 June.
Kick-off is at 18h00 CAT.
The Group A encounter will take place at Burkina Faso’s temporary home ground, Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako, Mali.
The Stallions of Burkina Faso are looking to bounce to winning ways after suffering a 2-1 loss to Egypt away on 6 June.
As a result, the Stallions have four points in Group A having drawn with Guinea-Bissau, secured a win over Ethiopia and lost to Egypt.
Burkina Faso are currently third in Group A standings – a point behind second-placed Guinea-Bissau and five behind leaders Egypt with seven games left.
Lassina Traore – who scored Burkina Faso’s consolation goal against Egypt – will be looking to inspire the Stallions to a win over Sierra Leone.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone are oozing with confidence after securing a win in their most recent game as they defeated Djibouti 2-1 at home on 5 June.
As a result. the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone have four points from their first three matches in Group A having recorded a draw against Ethiopia before losing to Egypt and defeating Djibouti.
The Leone Stars are placed fourth in the Group A standings – level on points with Burkina Faso ahead of their upcoming encounter.
Augustus Kargbo – who scored the winning goal against Djibouti – will be eager to score again and propel the Leone Stars to another win.
In Head-to-Head stats, this will be the second meeting between the two West African countries, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone.
Sierra Leone emerged as 2-1 winners over Burkina Faso in their only meeting which took place in January 1996.
