Wolfgang Fengler is the World Bank’s Lead Economist for South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho and Namibia. A native German, Wolfgang spent more than 20 years with the World Bank during which he lived in the USA, Asia, Africa, and Europe. He co-hosts the “Future Development” blog and has spoken at TEDx and various global innovation events. Previously, he was the CEO of Africa Consulting, LLC, and a Fellow at the Research Institute for International Relations. He received his PhD from the University of Hamburg (Germany).
