Wilfred Ndidi, a midfielder for the Super Eagles of Nigeria has disclosed that winning the team’s next two matches against South Africa and the Benin Republic will increase their chances of making it to the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
The team led by Finidi George is without a win in Group C after drawing their first two matches against Zimbabwe and Lesotho.
To have any hope of qualifying for the Mundial after missing out on the previous one in Qatar, the West Africans need to defeat the Bafana Bafana and Squirrels.
Ndidi acknowledged that the Super Eagles will put up a strong battle to win their next two games despite being unhappy with their current standing.

“Yeah, they (the games) are really important because we know where we stand at the moment. it’s not a good position, to be honest, we should be honest with ourselves.
“As long as you’re in that group you want to qualify so there are no small countries or small teams,” Ndidi said on Arise TV.
