For the first time in history, the Rugby Africa Men’s 7s tournament will be played in two rounds. Labourdonnais Sports Club in Mapou, Mauritius will host the 2025 edition on June 29-30 and July 6-7.
Twelve nations will compete in both rounds of the tournament. The winner will be determined by points collected after the two rounds.

Pools for the first round were released a month in advance. Uganda, bronze medallists from the 2023 edition, are in Pool B with Burkina, Tunisia, and Cote d’Ivoire.
Pools for Round One of the 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s:
Pool A: Kenya, Nigeria, Madagascar, Mauritius.
Pool B: Uganda, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire.
Pool C: Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa*, Algeria.
2023 silver medalists South Africa replace Ghana in Pool C. The respective fixtures have also been updated to reflect the change.
The pool phase of this round will be played on Day One (Saturday, June 29) and the knockout phase will follow on Day Two (Sunday, June 30).
Uganda’s fixtures in the pool phase (all times EAT):
9.06 a.m.: Uganda vs Côte d’Ivoire
11.50 a.m.: Uganda vs Tunisia
2.34 p.m.: Uganda vs Burkina Faso
Teams’ finishing positions after the knockout phase will be used to earn ranking points and for seeding to draw pools for the second round.
The top two ranked teams after the two rounds will qualify for the 2025 World Rugby 7s Challenger Series.
