Dozens of homes were destroyed after recent flooding in Burundi. Meanwhile around 300 households have been displaced by flooding in north western Tanzania.
Burundi
Burundi Red Cross says it has distributed relief items to 97 households after flooding destroyed their homes. Flooding struck after torrential rain on 24 February 2021 in Kanyosha commune, south of the major city of Bujumbura.
Tanzania
Meanwhile media in Tanzania, quoting local officials, report that as many as 300 households have been displaced by recent flooding in the municipality of Bukoba in Kagera region. As well as damaging homes, infrastructure, including roads and bridges were also affected.
Flooding was also reported in Kigoma Municipality of Kigoma Region, where around 60 households were displaced households and several buildings damaged.
